Sabato 15 Settembre alle 19.00 presso l’Art Club Epochè in via le botteghe 56, si terrà l’inaugurazione della mostra personale di Sonia Grineva: “Capri Nature". L'artista russo-americana, che ha scelto l'Isola azzurra come sua seconda casa, dipinge i paesaggi di Capri con il suo stile unico neo-impressionista e astratto.

L'evento si terrà sabato sera al tramonto presso il sofisticato Art Club Epoché nel centro di Capri, dove quest’estate si sono alternate opere di artisti italiani, francesi, spagnoli, americani ed ora anche russi e turchi. La Mostra di Sonia Grineva, che si svolgerà fino al 24 settembre, sarà un tributo alle luci, ai colori e alle varie forme dell'isola, che sono una fonte inesauribile di ispirazione per lei. Oltre al suo spazio di lavoro a Capri, Sonia gestisce uno studio a Manhattan, dove è famosa per i suoi paesaggi urbani di New York, e vedute di luoghi come la costa della Georgia, il New England e la parte orientale di Long Island. Il vernissage si terrà questo sabato 15 Settembre alle 19.00, con un cocktail inaugurale alla presenza dell'artista. Dalle 21.00 presso gli stessi spazi di Epoche inizierà l’esibizione della Bertone Jazz Band, ai ritmi del jazz latino, con ospite speciale Italia Vogna. A vivacizzare la serata anche i cocktail tailor made di IU Capri.

Saturday 15 September at 7 pm at the Art Club Epochè in via le botteghe 56, will take place the opening of the personal exhibition of Sonia Grineva, "Capri Nature". The Russian-American artist, that has chosen the Blue Island as her second home, paints the landscapes of Capri with her unique neo-Impressionist and abstract style. The event will be held Saturday evening at the sophisticated Art Club Epoché in the center of Capri, where this summer were alternated works by Italian, French, Spanish, American and now also Russian and Turkish artists. The exhibition of Sonia Grineva, will take place until September 24th and is a tribute to the lights, colors and various forms of the island, which are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for her. In addition to her workspace in Capri, Sonia runs a studio in Manhattan, where she is famous for her urban landscapes of New York, and views of places like the coast of Georgia, New England and the eastern part of Long Island. The vernissage will hold this Saturday 15th September at 7 pm, with an inaugural cocktail at the presence of the artist. From 9 pm in the same spaces of Epoche will begin the performance of the Bertone Jazz Band, to the rhythms of Latin jazz, with special guest Italy Vogna. The evening will be liven up by the tailor made cocktails of IU Capri.

Nota Biografica

Sonia Grineva è nata a Mosca, in Russia, e si è laureata presso lo Stroganov Art Institute, la principale scuola d'arte di Mosca, presso cui hanno studiato tra gli altri Kendinsky, Malevich e Rodchenko. Arrivata negli Stati Uniti all'età di 20 anni, ha continuato i suoi studi presso la National Academy of Design di Manhattan, dove è stata premiata con una prestigiosa borsa di studio itinerante che le ha dato l'opportunità di studiare a Firenze, in Italia, al British Institute. Sonia ha viaggiato molto e lavora sul posto nel solco della tradizione di molti artisti di pittura en plein air. I suoi viaggi l'hanno portata in molti luoghi degli Stati Uniti, tra cui il New England, il Sud degli USA e la California. Ha anche viaggiato molto in Europa e ha realizzato dipinti di alcuni dei più impressionanti paesaggi e scene del continente, tra cui quelli di Venezia, La Rochelle, Monte Carlo, Dieppe e Praga. Negli ultimi anni Sonia ha trascorso un periodo significativo di pittura in Italia, e ha creato paesaggi che vanno dagli oliveti della Puglia alle cime innevate dell'Alto Adige. Trae ispirazione profonda dalla storia e dalla cultura italiana, così come dalle migliaia di anni di espressione artistica che sono presenti nell'architettura, nella pittura, nella scultura e nei paesaggi umani del Belpaese. Sonia ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti e premi per il suo lavoro. Ha acquisito una reputazione internazionale per i suoi paesaggi a olio e acquerello e quadri astratti, ed è ben conosciuta e apprezzata a New York per i suoi paesaggi urbani di Manhattan. Inoltre, nel tempo si è specializzata nel lavoro con diversi mezzi, tra cui incisioni e sculture. Le sue opere sono esposte nelle collezioni di numerose gallerie di New York, New England, Washington e Georgia, in Europa e in numerose collezioni private, pubbliche e museali. Bio Note

Sonia Grineva was born in Moscow, Russia, and received her B.A. and M.F.A. degrees from the Stroganov Art Institute, Moscow's leading art school, whose faculty has included such figures Kandinsky, Malevich and Rodchenko, among others. Upon coming to the United States at the age of 20, she continued her studies at the National Academy of Design in Manhattan, where she was awarded a prestigious traveling scholarship granting her the opportunity to study in Florence, Italy at the British Institute. Sonia has traveled extensively, and works on location in the tradition of many plein air artists. Her travels have taken her to many parts of the US, including New England, the South and California. She has also travelled widely in Europe and has made paintings of some of the continent's most impressive landscapes and city scenes, including those in and around Venice, La Rochelle, Monte Carlo, Dieppe, and Prague. In the past few years Sonia has spent a signicant amount of time painting in Italy, and has created landscapes that range from the olive groves of Puglia to the snowcapped peaks of Alto Adige. She draws deep inspiration from Italian history and culture, as well as from the thousands of years of artistic expression that are present in the country's architecture, paintings, sculpture and human landscapes. Sonia has received many distinguished awards and recognitions for her work. She has gained an international reputation for her oil and watercolor landscapes and abstract paintings, and is well known and appreciated in New York for her Manhattan cityscapes. In addition, she is adept at a variety of mediums, including printmaking and sculpture. Her work can be seen in galleries in New York, New England, Washington and Georgia, Europe and in numerous private, public, and museum collections. She has an art studio on Union Square in New York City.
